Napa Valley Together: Allies for Immigrants

UpValley Family Centers is proud to join with our partners: Immigration Institute of the Bay Area, On The Move Neighborhood Initiative, Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, Community Leaders Coalition of Napa Valley, and Napa Valley Community Foundation to form Napa Valley Together: Allies for Immigrants. We’ve launched a new website chock-full of timely resources and ways to take action in our community.

Napa Valley Together is an initiative dedicated to supporting immigrants in Napa County and advance the rights of everyone who lives here through collective action and legal support. We are committed to fostering a community where every individual is valued, empowered, and supported.

In the face of challenges, we reaffirm our commitment to acting together to build a stronger, more inclusive Napa Valley. We are united by a shared mission: to uphold immigrant rights, ensure due process under the law, reduce the climate of fear created by misinformation, and safeguard the continued prosperity of our community.

By providing accurate information, legal resources, and support, we foster stability and a sense of belonging for all residents.

UpValley Promotoras receive Regional Catalyst grant

UpValley Family Centers' proposal to incubate a worker-owned Promotora Cooperative was one of 10 projects in the Bay Area to receive a Catalyst grant from Bay Area Jobs First Collaborative. The Catalyst Program, part of Governor Newsom’s Regional Investment Initiative, centers and empowers communities and workers, creates quality jobs, and addresses long-standing inequalities and climate vulnerabilities. UpValley Family Centers is proud to serve as an incubator organization, working alongside this group of devoted Promotoras on their journey to forming their own business. We are grateful to the Bay Area Jobs First Collaborative, and the Latino Community Foundation, for their partnership and investment in this cooperative that is being formed and led by the Promotoras themselves.

Free bilingual tax preparation services

Now through Tuesday, April 15th, the UpValley Family Centers will provide free tax preparation services through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA services are provided by UVFC’s Economic Success staff and a group of dedicated community volunteers.

The UpValley Family Centers VITA team members are IRS-certified to provide free expert tax preparation services for households earning less than $100,000 per year and help maximize refunds – including Earned Income and Child Tax Credit claims.
