Standing in Solidarity for Safety, Justice, and Our Community As an organization rooted in the values of trust, dignity, respect & cultural sensitivity, equity, and collaborative action, we are alarmed by the deadly force used by federal immigration agents in Minnesota, and we oppose the intimidation tactics being used to incite fear. Safety and justice are essential to a healthy community. We believe every person, regardless of immigration status, deserves to live in safety, with dignity, and without fear. How You Can Stand With Our Community There are many ways to take action and support immigrant families and neighbors:
-
Speak out and show up by attending community actions or rallies that call for accountability and an end to violent enforcement practices.
-
Share accurate information and help counter misinformation that fuels fear and division in our communities.
-
Stand in solidarity with immigrant families by listening, learning, and amplifying voices that are too often unheard.
-
Support local immigrant families by designating a donation to sustain programs like our Immigration Services, which provide DOJ-accredited legal consultations, family support, and community education, or our Family Safety Fund, which offers emergency assistance to immigrant families in crisis to help cover essentials like housing, food, health care, and legal services.
-
Learn more about Napa Valley Together, a collaborative of trusted local organizations working together to uphold immigrant rights, ensure due process under the law, reduce the climate of fear created by misinformation, and safeguard the continued prosperity of our community.
Together, we can continue working toward a community rooted in justice, dignity, and care for all our neighbors. |

January Recognized as Positive Parenting Awareness Month The Napa County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed January 2026 as Positive Parenting Awareness Month, recognizing the vital role parents, caregivers, and community partners play in supporting children’s health, resilience, and long-term well-being. The proclamation highlights how positive parenting strengthens families and helps prevent and heal the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). We are grateful to be part of the collaborative work of Napa County Health and Human Services Agency, Parents Can, Cope Family Center, ChildStart, Inc., and the Triple P Collaborative in delivering the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program throughout Napa County. Since 2017, over 20,000 parents, caregivers, children, and youth have received evidence-based parenting support through this partnership. Our accredited Triple P practitioners provide individualized parenting sessions that help parents create safe and engaging home environments, use assertive and effective discipline, set realistic expectations, learn new skills to manage challenging behaviors, and care for their own well-being as parents. For more information or an appointment, contact Lupe Maldonado at (707) 965-5010 ext. 403 or lmaldonado@upvalleyfamilycenters.org. |

Free Tax Preparation Services Now through Wednesday, April 15th, the UpValley Family Centers will provide free tax preparation services through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA services are provided by UVFC’s Economic Success staff and community volunteers, who are certified by the IRS. The VITA Program serves households earning less than $100,000 per year and helps maximize credits and refunds – including Earned Income and Child Tax Credit claims. Bilingual assistance is available, as well as applications and renewals of Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITINs) for residents without a social security number, who also file their taxes through the VITA program.
| Our VITA program is made possible by the following generous funders: United Way Bay Area, Redwood Credit Union, First Citizens Bank (formerly Silicon Valley Bank), the Fight Poverty Fund of the Napa Valley Community Foundation, the Thacher Family Fund of the Napa Valley Community Foundation, and individual donors |
