Save the Date: Back to School Community Celebration 2024!

Save the date! Our annual Back to School Community Celebration, co-hosted with the Calistoga Joint Unified School District, will occur on Friday, August 30, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM on Berry Field at Calistoga Elementary School. This joyful tradition will be extra special this year in honor of our 25th Anniversary! We are excited to welcome parents, children, teachers, and community members of all ages to connect and celebrate where it all began. This free event includes a meal for every attendee, live music, a service provider fair with 40+ partner organizations, games and activities for all. We hope to see you there!

This event is made possible by our sponsors: The Doctors Company, Jones Family Vineyards - Elaine and Rick Jones, MCE Clean Energy, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Damian Maldanado Memorial Foundation, Westamerica Bank, Abreu Vineyard, and Metropolitan Transportation Commission. There is still time to become a sponsor! If you are interested in learning more about our community event sponsorship opportunities, please email our Development Director, Cambria Kirby at ckirby@upvalleyfamilycenters.org.

Are you prepared?

One of California’s worst wildfires is happening right now and is changing quickly due to new growth of vegetation that is fuel for wildfires. Remember to stay prepared and ready to evacuate in the event of a wildfire or other disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

  1. Discuss with family on where to meet if you cannot return home
  2. Prepare an emergency supply kit with essentials
  3. Familiarize yourself with Red Flag Warnings and how to get weather reports
  4. Evacuate early when fire or disaster is present

Visit firefightersonyourside.org for more information on creating a 5-minute plan and being prepared for disaster.

August is National Make-A-Will Month

Planned giving is a highly impactful way to make a difference in our community. By making a planned gift to UpValley Family Centers, you ensure that we can continue to be here for generations to come – and you leave a legacy that will transform thousands of lives, right here in our community. If you'd like more information about planned giving, please email Cambria Kirby at ckirby@upvalleyfamilycenters.org.

If you have already included us in your estate plans, thank you! We would be honored to learn more about your plans, so that we may appropriately acknowledge your generosity and foresight.
