Festive Feast

On November 20, we partnered with Adventist Health St. Helena, Blue Zones Project Upper Napa Valley, Local Q, EV Floral Design, and the City of Calistoga to express gratitude for our Calistoga Older Adult Community with a nutritious Thanksgiving Lunch. It was a special event to honor and appreciate our amazing older adult community members.  We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside our partners and do something special to bring everyone together for a festive day of giving thanks.

Parents, be kind to yourself

Parents provide so much love, nurture, and care for their children that they often forget to be kind to themselves. Those who have school-age children focus on packing lunches, school drop off and pick-up, and after-school activities when they wake up every morning. With busy lifestyles, parents often neglect to set aside some time to care for themselves. For those who can relate to this, the Triple P Program can help. This program offers tips for parents to raise confident, healthy children and build healthy family relationships. It can be difficult to have patience and be calm with children when you are feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed. Being kind to yourself as a parent will allow you to have positive reactions to your children’s needs. If you or someone you know feels overwhelmed with juggling the different responsibilities of being a parent, please contact our office at (707) 965-5010 to learn more about the Triple P Program and how it can help you feel more confident as a parent.

A Season of Giving

Did you miss Giving Tuesday? You can still donate through the Give!Guide until December 31! Your support, and the support provided through the Give!Guide, means that our neighbors have a trusted ally to count on and a place to turn to when they need guidance.

Don't miss this special matching funds opportunity:

Redwood Credit Union will double your donation by matching the first $10,000 contributed to the UpValley Family Centers through CanDo's Give!Guide.

Are you prepared?

Safeguard yourself and your family with a well-prepared 5-minute plan that outlines evacuation routes from your home, alternative meeting spots if you can't return home, and an emergency supply kit with essentials.

Ensure your safety during an emergency by taking these steps:

  1. Establish a meeting place for your family.
  2. Prepare an emergency kit containing essentials like medication, important documents, clothes, food, and water.
  3. Stay updated with weather reports and Red Flag Warnings.
  4. If it's time to leave, have your emergency bags packed and gather your family, including pets.
  5. Don't delay; evacuate promptly.
