Gratitude for the Hands That Shape Our Valley In recognition of Farmworker Awareness Week, we want to express our deep gratitude to the farmworkers who are essential to Napa Valley’s identity and prosperity. Their labor in the vineyards sustains our local economy and helps make this valley the vibrant, beautiful place we call home. In Napa County, thousands of farmworkers form the backbone of our community. Yet many face significant challenges, including the high cost of living, limited access to affordable housing, language barriers, and barriers to accessing healthcare and legal services. We are proud to serve local farmworker households. We see firsthand the resilience, skill, and dedication that define this community - and we remain committed to providing resources, services, and advocacy that promote stability, opportunity, and well-being for all. We encourage our community to support policies and programs that expand affordable housing, improve access to healthcare, protect workers’ rights, and invest in the well-being of the people who sustain Napa Valley’s economy. You can make a difference by advocating for equitable local policies, supporting farmworker families, and uplifting the voices of this vital community. Our office will be closed on Tuesday, March 31, in observance of Farmworkers Day. This closure honors the broader legacy of the farmworker movement and its fearless leaders, like Dolores Huerta, whose advocacy helped improve wages and working conditions for farmworkers across California and beyond. We invite you to join us in recognizing and supporting the farmworkers who make Napa Valley thrive. |
| | VIVA! Napa Valley — Join Us Next Week VIVA! Napa Valley, UpValley Family Centers’ signature annual fundraising event, returns April 10-13, 2026. This year’s VIVA! online auction has been refreshed with a focus on quality, exclusivity, and impact - featuring a limited, highly curated collection of exceptional Napa Valley experiences, rare wines, and one-of-a-kind offerings. But VIVA is more than an auction - it’s an opportunity to come together in support of the UpValley community. In addition to bidding, participants will have the opportunity to give directly in support of children, families, and individuals across northern Napa County through our “Stand with UpValley” giving options. Thanks to a generous commitment from Redwood Credit Union, the first $15,000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar — doubling the impact of your gift. An exclusive preview of auction items will be available April 6–9, with bidding opening Friday, April 10 at 8 AM (PST). Visit VivaNapaValley.givesmart.com to register, explore, and be part of this year’s VIVA! Napa Valley. Together, we can make a meaningful difference across the UpValley community. |

Youth Wellness Conference Do you have a teen in your life? SHINE invites Napa Valley teens to a FREE Youth Wellness Conference for high school students! The SHINE Ambassadors Youth Wellness Conference is a student-led event created by youth, for youth. Centered on the theme First Generation Wellness, the conference brings together first-generation students from across Napa County to explore mental health, identity, and pathways to opportunity. Students selected this theme after recognizing their shared experiences navigating school, family expectations, and systems that were not built with first-generation youth in mind. Through workshops, activities, and conversations with first-generation mentors and professionals, the conference aims to create a welcoming space where youth feel seen, connected, and empowered. |
